SFTP stands for Shielded and Foiled Twisted Pair. This translates to foil shielding around individual twisted wires and a screen around the entire cable. This provides the highest level of protection from electrical interference, resulting in the highest performing cables available today.
SatMaximum’s CAT7 Outdoor cable is made of four twisted, shielded pairs. Each conductor is 26 AWG pure oxygen-free stranded copper wire. Each twisted pair of conductors is individually shielded to repel any electromagnetic interference (EMI). This makes this cabling perfect for environments with large-scale electrical equipment.
Connections are through two gold-plated RJ45 connectors to allow for backward compatibility. These RJ45 connectors also have clip protectors that prevent unwanted snags when routing the cable ensuring a hassle-free installation. Gold-Plated connectors offer unparalleled conductivity and minimum data loss.
This cable also has a tinned copper drain wire to ground the electricity after the cable has been terminated. A drain wire is required on all shielded cables. It prevents signal loss, cross-talk, and a wide range of other performance issues associated with shielded cables.
Using a tinned copper drain wire ensures your cabling will always work flawlessly for high-performance connections. All of these features fit into a cable with an outer diameter of just 6.8 mm.
