What Is A Coax Splitter?
A coax splitter takes a singular video feed and splits it into multiple feeds that can go to different places. You can find coaxial cable splitters that split into two, three, four, six, or even eight different directions. However, the more you split it, the weaker the signal is going to be for each individual feed.
In a perfect world, a cable splitter is going to keep the right balance between both the input and the output. For most visual coaxial systems, what you are looking for is an impedance of around 75 ohms.
The coax signal splitter is going to get its power from the input port and then split it as equally as possible through each individual output port whether there is something attached to each output or not. For this reason, you want to make sure that you get a coaxial splitter that only has as many outputs as you are actually going to need.
As an example, if you wanted to split signal into 2 different TVs you would want to get a 2-Way Coax Cable Splitter that had one input and 2 outputs You would not want to get a Coaxial Splitter that had more outputs than you need.

Does The Quality Of A Coax Cable Splitter Matter?
Not all splitters are created equally. In fact, a low-quality coaxial cable splitter is going to affect the quality of the video signal which is going to result in an extensive loss of signal, especially when you are running multiple reflections.
The result of this can be something called ghosting which is shadows on the picture. A low-quality coaxial cable splitter is only going to have a singular ferrite that attempts to control the impedance within the splitter. However, it is often going to fail. That means it won’t produce a good enough wideband impedance which results in the signal loss. So, purchasing a high-quality Coaxial Cable Splitter such as ours always ends up providing higher value.
